Dr. Amy Burnett is an interdisciplinary researcher and practitioner with a background in political science, international development, environmental management and planning. As a researcher, Amy’s work focuses on the role of civil society groups and local government in promoting innovative and sustainable development in the context of planning, placemaking and place-based identities, political systems and broader policy influence, organisational design, and incentivising action on climate and biodiversity issues.

Christine is a Political Economist specialised in health and social care, and postgrowth economics. Her doctoral research with CUSP asks how we can build welfare systems that don't rely on economic growth. She is contributing to CUSP's engagement with the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Limits to Growth, developing a framework for systematically identifying and addressing growth dependencies in the welfare state.

Dr Shimaa Elkomy is a research fellow at the Centre of Environment and Sustainability at the University of Surrey. She is working with us on the Powering Productivity project that is exploring the relationship between energy and economic productivity. Dr Elkomy is leading the productivity analysis and is responsible for exploring the different aspects and moderating factors of the energy-productivity nexus.
