Dario is a PhD researcher in our System Dynamics research strand. He is building a stock-flow consistent model of an open economy to investigate how international trade and financial flows might influence the main macro variables of a national country transitioning to a post-growth economy.

Dario holds a first class BA in Economics and Management from the University of Trento, Italy. He won a scholarship from the University of Leeds that allowed him to complete his MSc in Economics (awarded with distinction) there.

Right before the beginning of his current PhD at the University of Surrey, he worked in an environmental consulting company in his hometown, Reggio Emilia. He regularly contributes to the political and ecological economics blog project, set up by University of Leeds students, SEEKonomics.

His research with CUSP aims at building a stock-flow consistent model of an open economy to investigate how international trade and financial flows might influence the main macro variables of a national country transitioning to a post-growth economy. More precisely, he studying whether changes in the exchange rate, current and capital account can hinder or foster a successful transition towards a sustainable economic model.

His academic interests include ecological economics, economic modelling, post-Keynesian economics, monetary and international economics.
