The WISE project team at Surrey is seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to support Lirong Liu and Angela Druckman in delivering the Horizon Europe funded project WISE HORIZONS: Wellbeing, Inclusion and Sustainability & the Economy. The assignment offers an excellent opportunity to develop research expertise in a collaborative project by working with an interdisciplinary team involving international and UK partners.

The Research Fellow will investigate what sustainable lifestyles might look like in 2050 by combining data on subjective wellbeing, environmental impact and time-use. The successful candidate will develop a novel international database, in order to (a) show how characteristics have changed over time, and (b) to extrapolate subjective wellbeing and environmental impacts for different scenarios of time use and production intensities. The work will also include literature reviews, data analysis, writing reports, supporting project management, as well as liaising with team members (external and internal). Travel may be required within the UK and EU.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Environment, Sustainability or a related discipline, data analysis skills, and ideally will have some expertise in sustainable lifestyles research and related quantitative skills.
