Vacancies for new ACCESS Network: Advancing Capacity for Climate and Environment Social Science (ACCESS)
The newly funded ACCESS Network is recruiting for key roles at Exeter and Surrey Universities.

University of Surrey
- Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Knowledge Exchange): Full time. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the ACCESS leadership team in Surrey, being primarily responsible for delivering outcomes related to Work Package 1 which aims to map, assess and learn from current environmental social science expertise and build a toolkit for successful interdisciplinary environmental social science in research, policy and practice. - Project Manager: Part-time (0.8 FTE): The postholder will be responsible for the planning, preparation, execution, and reporting of research, impact, capacity building and engagement activities for the ACCESS leadership team at Surrey. Closing date for applications was 30 Mar 2022.
University of Exeter
- Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Impact): Available immediately on a fixed term basis until 31 January 2025, with possibility of extension for a further two years subject to evaluation of project needs and circumstances. Closing date for applications was 03 Apr 2022.
- Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Data): Full time, ESRC funded. Available immediately, on a fixed term basis, for three years. Closing date for applications was 09 Mar 2022.
- Project Manager: This part-time post (0.8FTE) is available immediately on a fixed term basis for three years with a possibility of being extended for a further two years subject to development of the grant. Closing date for applications was 22 Feb 2022.
- Project Administrator: This part-time post (0.8FTE) is available immediately on a fixed term basis until 31st January 2027. Closing date for applications was 22 Feb 2022.
About ACCESS
The ACCESS network is a newly funded ESRC programme co-led by CUSP researcher Prof Birgitta Gatersleben. The network’s aim is “to coordinate and champion environmental social science research, to build capacity and promote and enhance the value of environmental social science in research and practice.” Other co-investigators from CUSP include Prof Kate Burningham, Prof Tim Jackson, Ian Christie, and Prof Angela Druckman.
