Survey: Monitoring, Evaluation and Accountability of Climate and Ecological Emergencies and Action
Do you monitor, report on, evaluate or are responsible for the delivery of sustainability and #netzero initiatives in your organisation? Then please consider sharing your views and experience in this survey.
The closing date for the study has been extended; the survey is open until 11 February.
CUSP researcher Dr Amy Burnett is inviting you to take part in a research project through the completion of this survey.
What is the purpose of the survey? The purpose of this survey is to ascertain the needs of different users on what tools and approaches may be useful to help them monitor, evaluate and be accountable for action taken arising from climate and ecological emergency declarations (or climate action that may also encompass tools that measure the SDGs).
Why is the survey needed and what are the benefits of taking part? There are a plethora of different tools and approaches to monitor and evaluate sustainability initiatives. However, without a standardised national approach in many areas their application is patchy, particularly in how climate and/or ecological emergencies are being monitored. In addition, different stakeholders have different needs and capabilities to carry out such work. This survey is centred on a need to identify how different stakeholder groups use different types of tools to encourage a more systematic approach to measuring sustainability outcomes in practice.
Who are the target audience? Local government councillors and staff, community groups, businesses, public sector bodies, educational/research establishments and other end-users of sustainability reporting tools. We are particularly keen to know which sustainability tools are being used by planners and ecologists to contribute to reporting on climate and/or ecological emergencies. You have received a link to this survey either through an organisation who has offered to help distribute a link to it, or because your name and role was identified as having a planning/sustainability focus from information in the public domain.
