Join us for our Symposium “Impact Investing in Times of Crises: Rethinking the Nature of Logics” (session 12632) on Sunday August 1st from 12.00-1.30pm Eastern Time at the Annual Academy of Management Meeting and discuss the question: Why does the impact investing market not fully work?.

While we have seen tremendous progress in creating an early-stage impact investing market, the recent COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted that we might not yet fully understand how and whether impact investing actually works and for whom. In the symposium we discuss the inherent problems in the market (from cultural differences to the problematic measurement of impact) and reflect on the potential of some of our theoretical lenses at hand to make impact investing work for everyone.

The panellists are:

  • Gorgi Krlev (University of Heidelberg)
  • Othmar M. Lehner (CUSP, Middlesex University London; Hanken School of Economics)
  • Fergus Lyon (CUSP, Middlesex University London)
  • Lisa Hehenberger (Esade Business School)
  • Barbara Scheck (Munich Business School)

The symposium is organised by:

  • Theresa Harrer (CUSP, Middlesex University London)
  • Othmar M. Lehner (CUSP, Middlesex University London; Hanken School of Economics)
