Navigating social, economic and environmental challenges: The role of social enterprises
A collaborative research project with the University of Technology Sydney, Ashoka, and Centre for the Understanding of Sustainable Prosperity, where we are seeking to better understand the Social Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in Australia, and how you navigate the complex social, economic and environmental challenges. We would love to hear from industry insiders.
We invite you to join us for an informal workshop hosted at UTS on Monday 19th August at 4pm for a 4:20pm start.
We are particularly interested in the following challenges:
- There is a lot of variability in how different people understand what social entrepreneurship and innovation is. We are interested in your view on this, and also what sorts of social and environmental issues social entrepreneurs tackle in Australia.
- How do you and others think about balancing purpose and profit.
- We have developed some ideas about these issues and we will share these with you as well.
Social entrepreneurs and supporters of social enterprises face a range of challenges including where best to place their attention and limited resources. Our research aims to produce a report for members of the Australian social entrepreneurship ecosystem to spark conversations about different ways to think about these issues. We would love to work with you on this.
