Aspiring Angel Investor event – support women tackling Climate Change
Having a well-functioning and clean technology (in short Cleantech) ecosystem is imperative to tackling climate change. Research has shown that women are exceptionally well positioned to address big societal problems such as climate change because they know how to engage the community and understand social issues. However, women are highly underrepresented in the cleantech sector, both as entrepreneurs and investors. This needs to change.
The event, hosted by FiveThirteen and CUSP will give aspiring female investors a chance to take part in a virtual event in which female impact founders will pitch for investment. It will focus on how to conduct the pre-investment research (“due diligence”) in early stage “profit-with-purpose” companies that are tackling Climate Change. Three businesses tackling climate change will present to groups of women drawn from a mix of professional fields. Each group will then be supported through the process of conducting a group-led due diligence (research) exercise.
