Divestment: Economic, Historical, and Moral Perspectives

On 12 February this year, a number of student groups within Cambridge University’s Christ’s College hosted a panel with alumni of Christ’s to share their expertise on various aspects of the divestment issue, addressing i.a. economic, historical, and moral perspectives for divestment.

Chaired by Alyssa Gilbert (m.1996.—Head of Policy and Translation, Grantham Institute for Climate Change and the Environment, Imperial College London), the panel features Tim Jackson (m.1976.—Director of CUSP, Author of Prosperity Without Growth), who puts forward the Economic Case for Divestment; Fiona Harvey (m.1990.- Environment Correspondent, The Guardian), who presents A History of the Divestment Movement; and Rowan Williams (m.1968.—Former Archbishop of Canterbury. Master of Magdalene College, Cambridge), who presents The Moral Case for Divestment.
