Conservation and the real world
Earth Optimism Cambridge with Tim Jackson
22 April 2017
On 22 April 2017, the Cambridge Conservation Initiative of the UK is partnering with the Smithsonian in hosting an Earth Optimism event in Cambridge. As part of the wider concept of celebrating “a change in focus from problem to solution in the area of global conservation with an unprecedented gathering of thought leaders, scientists, environmentalists, artists, civic leaders and international media”, the programme features inspiring talks from conservationists, naturalists and campaigners alike. CUSP Director Tim Jackson will be joining a panel with Jane Goodall, Sebastian Pole and David Amaning Kwarteng. Other speakers of the day include Fiona Reynolds, Steven Pinker and David Attenborough.
Attendance is free but booking is required. Where sessions are sold out, there will be a first-come, first-served queuing system in place outside the Babbage Lecture Theatre on the day for any returned or unused bookings. In addition, the talks will be live-streamed in a nearby lecture theatre, and also online.
For detailed information, please go to the CCI website. The video recording of the conference can be accessed below. Tim Jackson’s talk starts at 28m13s.
