EAC Green Finance Inquiry
Alex White giving evidence on green finance strategies in the UK
16 January 2018
On 16 January 2018, CUSP research fellow Alex White gave evidence to the Environmental Audit Committee on their green finance inquiry. The EAC invited experts and NGOs to discuss the scale of the challenge facing the UK and possible policy responses, also questioning commercial organisations directly involved in facilitating low-carbon investment in the UK. Based on our research with the Aldersgate Group, Alex White argued for the need to create an attractive low carbon investment environment in the UK if we are to see the real benefits of a growing green finance industry. Other witnesses included: Diletta Giuliani, Climate Bonds Initiative, Dustin Benton, Policy Director, Green Alliance, and Sini Matikainen, Research Fellow, Grantham Institute on Climate Change and the Environment.
You can listen to the evidence session on the Parliament website.
