Guildford Book Festival 2021
Tim Jackson in conversation with Molly Scott Cato
Guildford, 6 October 2021, 7-8pm

Capitalism is broken. The relentless pursuit of more has delivered climate catastrophe, social inequality and financial instability—and left us ill-prepared for life in a global pandemic. CUSP director Prof Tim Jackson dares us to imagine a world beyond capitalism—a place where relationship and meaning take precedence over profits and power. His new book Post Growth-Life After Capitalism is both a manifesto for system change and an invitation to rekindle a deeper conversation about the nature of the human condition.
Tim Jackson will be in conversation with Prof Molly Scott Cato—economist, writer and campaigner for green politics. Between 2014 and 2020 Molly represented South West England in the European Parliament where she worked on sustainable finance, regenerative agriculture, and trade policy. She joined the Green Party in 1988 and is their spokesperson on economics, finance and Brexit.
