Seán is an Ecological Economist, and CUSP Research Fellow at the University of Surrey. He is working on the WISE Horizons project.

Seán is a Research Fellow with CUSP on the WISE Horizons project, exploring the relationships between consumption, time-use, wellbeing, and environmental pressure to model sustainable lifestyles out to 2050.

Before joining CUSP, Seán undertook his PhD at Queen’s University Belfast, which focused on the development of an ecological economic indicator framework to measure the transition of the macroeconomy to a post-growth state.

He worked as a policy advisor in the Oireachtas and the Northern Ireland Assembly. He co-authored reports for government departments and civic society groups mapping out a just energy transition in Northern Ireland and the co-benefits of local government climate action, and has published on post-growth perspectives on the political economy of Irish reunification.
