Rosie West
PhD Candidate
A PhD candidate at the School of Politics, International Relations and Environment (SPIRE) Department at Keele University, Rosie is contributing to CUSP’s politics research theme, exploring the political foundations for new forms of sustainable prosperity.
In her work within the political institutions theme in CUSP, Rosie is supervised by Brian Doherty and Marit Hammond. Her research specifically explores the role of hope in local food activism, within the context of creating sustainable food futures. Rosie joined SPIRE in October 2016 as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and PhD candidate, and currently teaches on the Politics of Sustainability, and Environmental Ethics modules.
She has an MA Social Research from Sheffield University, a BSc Sociology from Plymouth University, and a background in the International Development and charity sectors. Alongside environmental sustainability, her research interests include the sociology of food, social movements, and the environment.
