Mollie Wilson

PhD Candidate

Mollie is a PhD candidate based at the University of Surrey. She is exploring how urban spatial structure at the community level can impact social wellbeing and the achievement of sustainable prosperity within urban environments.

Under the supervision of Dr Zoe Harris and Professor Tim Jackson at the University of Surrey, Mollie is exploring how urban spatial structure at the community level can impact social wellbeing and the achievement of sustainable prosperity within urban environments. Her research is specifically interested in how the presence and spatial arrangement of different urban components lead to varying sustainability and prosperity outcomes within urban systems. These components include green/blue infrastructure and different forms of economic activity, such as creative industries and social enterprises.

Mollie holds a BSc in Human Ecology from the University of Kent and an MSc in Environmental Strategy from the University of Surrey. Beyond urban spatial structure, her research interests also include urban ecosystem services; the reclaiming of privatised public spaces; and the roles of creative industries, community participation, and green infrastructure in sustainable urban development.
