Mehedi is Associate Professor in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. A former PhD candidate with CUSP, he is working on the CYCLES project (Children and Youth Lifestyles Evaluation Study).
Working at the Civics-Lab at the University of Canterbury, Mehedi’s doctoral research was supervised by Bronwyn Hayward. His research investigates the linkage of innovative public spaces in the context of the lifestyles of young people in Dhaka city, Bangladesh.
Prior to his PhD, Mehedi completed a Bachelor and a Master degree in Urban and Regional Planning at Jahangirnagar University in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He also has a Master of Science in Climate Studies (MCL) from Wageningen University and Research (WUR), Netherland. His research area is sustainable urban planning, environmental planning and climate change and he has published in these fields.
