Megan is a PhD candidate at Swansea University exploring the relationship between psychological flow and nature under the supervision of CUSP researchers Dr Amy Isham and Prof Birgitta Gatersleben.
Her project aims to evaluate how immersive flow experiences are impacted by physical surroundings, with a focus on natural environments and their capacity to influence nature connectedness and pro-ecological values. By conceptualising environments of optimal experience, it is hoped that more can be understood about the places that contribute to having more fun with less stuff.
Megan holds an MSc in Environmental Psychology from the University of Surrey and a BSc in Architecture from the University of Bath. Having previously worked in Architecture and Landscape Architecture practices, she has a wider research interest in inclusive design for therapeutic environments, sustainable lifestyles and reconnecting people with nature in the face of urbanisation, the climate crisis and biodiversity extinction.
