Ben educates and advises senior business leaders of large multi-national businesses on how to align their purpose and strategy with the transition to a sustainable economy. He’s also contributed to shaping international standards for sustainable purpose-driven organisations, culminating in an international standard.

He is currently working independently with global thought leaders and representatives of business, finance and government to co-create an overarching narrative for a new economy that serves people and the planet. This is intended to help leaders to see the urgent need to transform the economy and find their place in it.

Ben draws on over twenty years of experience as an organisational development consultant, eleven of which were with the international not-for-profit Forum for the Future. He loves to connect people and ideas to enable a sustainable future.

Work w/ CUSP

Ben is leading a project, in collaborating with CUSP, to co-create a shared narrative for a new economy that serves people and the planet. This builds on seminal new economy thinking, including CUSP’s work and that of Kate Raworth, Katherine Trebeck, Jason Hickel and others.

The intention is to bring together the complementary, but often fragmented, thinking and practice in the field, to create a shared overarching narrative that any change maker or leader can use.

The target audience is senior leaders in the public and private sector and engaged citizens.

The intention is to create a shared resource that can be used to engage the ‘early majority’. Consensus on the core principles for a new economy, plus the roles of business, finance, government and civil society were agreed at a workshop in March 2025. This has since been tested by over sixty thought leaders and representatives of the target audiences.

The plan is to publish a paper, that summarises the new economy principles and roles of business, finance, the state and civil society and then the narrative later in 2025.
