Systems that Sustain: Building Impact That Lasts in Africa
The African Social Enterprise Workshop (ASEW) has officially announced the 8th Edition of the Sustaining Impact Summit, scheduled for 27 to 29 August 2026.
Now widely recognised as Africa’s biggest social enterprise event, the Sustaining Impact Summit has grown into the premier annual gathering for social innovators, NGOs, impact investors, policymakers, and ecosystem builders committed to creating lasting change across the continent.
This Year’s Theme: “Systems that Sustain: Building Impact That Lasts in Africa”
Following seven successful editions that focused heavily on resourcefulness and other impact driven themes, the 2026 summit marks a significant evolution. The theme challenges participants to move beyond short-term solutions and short-lived projects to build resilient systems that enable impact to survive, scale, and endure.
The three-day hybrid summit will explore critical systems including:
- Funding and financing models
- Market systems and business models
- Policy and regulatory frameworks
- Technology and AI opportunities
- Ecosystem collaboration
- Internal organisational systems
Key Highlights for 2026
- Expected attendance of 1,000+ participants
- Hybrid format with physical locations across multiple African countries
- High-level keynotes and panel discussions
- Practical masterclasses and business model clinics
- Career Coaching Studio and Dream Job Canvas Challenge
- Sustaining Impact Prize Award Ceremony
“This year, we are raising the bar,” says CUSP fellow Dr Adeyemi Adelekan, Director of the African Social Enterprise Workshop. “We have celebrated resourcefulness for seven years. Now is the time to build the systems that make impact sustainable across Africa.”
