Andrew M. M. Reeves is a co-investigator and Post-Doctoral Fellow in Ecological Macroeconomics and Metrics at York University’s International Ecological Footprint Learning Lab (IEFLL). His research combines data analysis and macroeconomic modelling to understand how economic activity interacts with ecological systems.

With IEFLL, Andrew has worked on environmentally extended input-output tables for the Province of Ontario’s ecological footprint. In modelling, he works under the supervision of Peter Victor and collaborates with scholars at CUSP, primarily to advance the LowGrow SFC stock-flow consistent macroeconomic model, which explores post-growth economic pathways for Canada that are both sustainable and socially just.

Trained as a mathematical physicist, Andrew completed his PhD in astrophysics at the University of Waterloo, where he specialised in data-intensive modelling of galaxy formation. Please reach out to him if you also are interested in: ecological and heterodox economics, system dynamics modelling, economic imperialism and Global North – Global South inequality, or post-capitalist economic systems such as democratic economic planning. He also keeps busy in community-level organizing, particularly around issues of homelessness.

See Andrew’s Google scholar profile for a list of academic publications.
